Kelowna Fashion Week(end) 2025 is coming soon, and I can’t wait for September!

I’d love to share my experience from last year, which was truly special for me. It was my first time ever presenting my designs at a fashion event. I showcased a collection that combined handmade crochet garments with repurposed second-hand clothing — a blend of craftsmanship and sustainability.

I presented my work on the second day of the event, which focused on the recycled fashion category. It was incredibly rewarding to be part of a showcase that emphasized creativity, innovation, and environmental consciousness.

Organized by AesthetiKs Lab, the 2024 edition of Kelowna Fashion Week(end) was a dynamic three-day celebration of style, featuring runway shows, workshops, and interactive sessions that brought together emerging talents and established designers alike.

The weekend kicked off with Friday workshops on values-based fashion, modeling, illustration, and marketing, culminating in a runway show that highlighted designs made from new and innovative materials. Saturday was all about sustainability — with a clothing swap, a zero-waste wardrobe conference, insightful panels, and a runway show dedicated to upcycled fashion. Sunday celebrated youth in fashion, with a ribbon skirt workshop and a show featuring young designers and brands.

More than just fashion, the event created a strong sense of community through designer pop-ups, hands-on workshops, and live concerts. Its dedication to sustainability was reflected in every aspect — from the designs to the messaging — helping promote a more conscious approach to fashion.

Save the date! Fashion Week is set to return from September 18–21, 2025, at the Innovation Centre.
